Nikki Craske (MBACP): Counselling

Introduction

I am a counsellor who works with individuals and couples on a range of issues.  My core approach is person-centred with psychodynamic and systemic techniques incorporated if and when appropriate.  I have experience of working in the NHS and the voluntary sector and currently combine my private work with counselling in the higher education sector.  I work with clients in short-term or long-term work as required.  Counselling is a very personal process and you may find it useful to look at the pages explaining both counselling generally and the person-centred approach I use before making an appointment.  If you would like further information, please do not hesitate to call me.  I offer a free brief initial session (about 20 minutes) to see whether we are comfortable with one another and for you to explore whether counselling is right for you before we agree to a course of sessions.

Confidentiality

The sessions are confidential and this confidentiality would only be broken if I had concerns that you posed a serious risk to yourself or a third person.  Wherever possible, I would discuss with you beforehand if I needed to break your confidentiality.  The only other grounds for breaking confidentiality would be if you disclosed activities that are illegal.

I am a member of the BACP and abide by its Ethical Framework in my practice.

I am fully insured and am committed to on-going professional development, including regular supervision.
